Total 305,209 Covid vaccinations have been reported across the UK. More than 45.8 million people 87.1% of adults have now had at least one dose. More than 34.7 million 66% of adults have had two doses. Delta is more transmissible and seems to cause more illness and death. The later may simply because more deaths will occur when many more people are infected. We will see when full data are out. But, more importantly, vaccines are effective against Delta

Package examined by Army bomb disposal experts and found to contain electrical items returned by a customer. The cordon and road closures now lifted and we would like to thank the public for their patience. A LARGE part of Leeds city centre was put in lockdown with buildings evacuated this afternoon as police investigated reports of a suspicious package being found. Great Wilson Street, Meadow Lane, Neville Street, Victoria Road and Water Lane in the city centre were all shut.  West Yorkshire Police said they were dealing with a "suspect package incident" in the mail at Asda House. All staff were evacuated from the building and a cordon put in place.
