North Korea and US 'in direct contact', says Tillerson The US is in "direct contact" with North Korea, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has said. Mr Tillerson said Washington was "probing" the possibility of talks with Pyongyang, "so stay tuned". "We have lines of communications to Pyongyang," he said during a trip to China. "We're not in a dark situation." North Korea and the US have engaged in heated rhetoric in recent months but it was not previously known they had a lines of communication. US President Donald Trump has threatened to annihilate North Korea, saying the country's leader, Kim Jong-un, "is on a suicide mission", which led Mr Kim to release a statement vowing to "tame the mentally deranged US dotard with fire". The war of words comes against a backdrop of repeated missile tests and Pyongyang's claim that, on 3 September, it successfully tested a miniaturised hyd...

North Korea & Russia issued nuclear WARNING

Image
North Korea & Russia issued nuclear WARNING  The Tory minister, speaking alongside Nato’s Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, defended Britain’s nuclear deterrent. He appeared on from a nuclear submarine base in Scotland and insisted Nato weapons were “vital” for the security of member states. Mr Fallon said: “We remain committed to reducing our stockpile but we also have to be realistic – these weapons remain vital for the security of our people and of our Nato partners for as long as the security environment demands. “Nato is a nuclear alliance and our deterrent provides one of the alliance’s key centres of decision-making, complicating the calculations of our adversaries. And many nations represented here today signed the non-proliferation treaty in the late 1960s in the knowledge that they were covered by our nuclear umbrella.” The politician then took aim at North Korea over its growing tensions with the US and South Korea and h...

North Korean missiles were recently spotted moved from a rocket facility in the capital Pyongyang, Several North Korean missiles were recently spotted moved from a rocket facility in the capital Pyongyang, South Korea's Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) reported late Friday amid speculation that the North was preparing to take more provocative actions. The report cited an unnamed intelligence source saying South Korean and U.S. intelligence officials detected missiles being transported away from North Korea's Missile Research and Development Facility at Sanum-dong in the northern part of Pyongyang. The missiles could be either intermediate range Hwasong-12 or intercontinental ballistic Hwasong-14 missiles, according to the report, though the missile facility at Sanum-dong has been dedicated to the production of intercontinental ballistic missiles. A source from South Korea's defense ministry said he could not confirm details of the report or whether there ...

Leonardo da Vinci may have drawn 'nude Mona Lisa',

Leonardo da Vinci may have drawn 'nude Mona Lisa', experts say A nude drawing that bears a remarkable likeness to the Mona Lisa may have been sketched by Leonardo da Vinci, French experts say. Based at the Louvre in Paris, where the Mona Lisa is held, they have been examining charcoal drawing Joconde Nue. The sketch, which is almost the same size as the Mona Lisa, has been held since 1862 in the huge collection of Renaissance art at the Conde Museum at the palace of Chantilly. It had been attributed to the artist's studio, but after a month of tests at the Louvre, curators believe the "drawing is at least in part" by da Vinci, if not completely. "The drawing has a quality in the way the face and hands are rendered that is truly remarkable," curator Mathieu Deldicque told French newspaper Le Figaro. "It is almost certainly a preparatory work for an oil painting," he added, hinting that it is closely connected to the M...

Mount Agung volcano on the Indonesian tourist island of Bali, fearing it will soon erupt,  An Indonesian disaster official says more than 120,000 people have left the region around the Mount Agung volcano on Bali, fearing it will soon erupt. Nyoman Parwata, an official at the disaster mitigation agency’s command post in Bali, said Thursday the number of evacuees has swelled to about 122,500. The volcano has been at its highest alert level since Friday, sparking a massive exodus of villagers. An exclusion zone around the mountain extends as far as 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) from the crater in places but officials say people farther from the volcano are also leaving. Agung last erupted in 1963, killing more than 1,100 people, and remained active for about a year.

Prince William Reveals Prince George Is Already Fed Up With Going To School And We Can Sympathise

Prince William Reveals Prince George Is Already Fed Up With Going To School And We Can Sympathise Earlier this month, we were all close to welling up as we saw Prince William hold Prince George's hand as the pair walked through the gates of Thomas' Battersea prep school for the little tyke's first day. However, it appears the four-year-old's excitement to attend school has dwindled somewhat, if Prince William's recent comments are anything to go by. On a visit to Milton Keynes yesterday, the Duke of Cambridge reportedly revealed the Prince is a kind of 'over' the whole school thing. According to the Telegraph, he told a fellow parent: 'I just dropped George off and he didn't want to go.' Mother-of-two Louise Smith said the heir to the throne stopped to say 'hello' to her daughters. 'It was really exciting meeting William. He told me he'd just dropped Prince George off at school and he didn't want to go. Sou...

Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner has died at the age of 91. In a statement, Playboy Enterprises said Mr Hefner died peacefully at his home from natural causes. It read: "Hugh M Hefner, the American icon who in 1953 introduced the world to Playboy magazine and built the company into one of the most recognisable American global brands in history, peacefully passed away today from natural causes at his home, The Playboy Mansion, surrounded by loved ones." Hefner, known as the "Heff", built Playboy into a brand that defined the sexual culture of the second half of the 20th century. The first issue of the magazine, published in 1953, featured nude photographs of Marilyn Monroe and sold more than 50,000 copies. By the 1970s, the magazine had more than seven million readers, but competition and the advent of the internet saw that circulation drop to less than three million by the start of the 21st century. As well as nude pictures,...

RONALDO HIT UNWANTED BENCHMARK AT REAL MADRID

Image
RONALDO HIT UNWANTED BENCHMARK AT REAL MADRID Cristiano Ronaldo has endured a complicated start to the season with Real Madrid and will not get off the scoring mark in La Liga until at least October. For the Portuguese, waiting so long into a Spanish top-flight campaign to score his first goal is unprecedented. The latest the 32-year-old has ever previously had to wait to get off the mark was September 21, back in 2010. In every other season, he has scored at least one goal before then. Of course, Ronaldo’s slow start to the season has been caused by more than poor form in front of goal. Madrid’s next fixture in the Spanish top flight is not until October 1, when they face Espanyol at home. After that comes the international break and a match against Getafe programmed for October 15. Ronaldo has good memories of facing Espanyol, though. It was against the Barcelona-based club that he found the net to end his previous longest drought at the start of a league...

check out the boots Priyanka Chopra wore for the Global Citizen Festival Like we've mentioned earlier it's hard to keep up with Priyanka Chopra's hectic shedule. After a brief trip to Mumbai, she headed to Jordan, then to the Emmy's, then to the UN assembly and her current pit stop is NYC (her temp home). Priyanka, who is UNICEF's global goodwill ambassador, hosted the Global Citizen Festival eariler today and stunned the crowd with her sass. No surprises there, no? What was surprising was her choice of outfit though. She donned a gorgeous floral sheath dress but it was the boots that were thee real deal. She literally matched her thigh high boots to the dress - yes, the exact same print! And boy, are we loving it. Messy hair and muted make-up rounded off the ballsy look. While we'd give it a perfect 10, what about you?
