Man Arrested Outside Houses of Parliament on Suspicion of Carrying Knives In a tense moment outside one of the United Kingdom's most symbolic buildings, a man was apprehended on Tuesday after allegedly carrying knives near the Houses of Parliament. The incident unfolded around 2 p.m. when police responded to reports of a suspicious individual outside Carriage Gates, a prominent entrance to the Palace of Westminster. Witnesses described a strong police presence as officers responded swiftly to secure the area. Carriage Gates, often bustling with activity, was immediately cordoned off, and police vehicles lined the perimeter as a precaution. Images captured at the scene showed a man in a red hooded top, handcuffed and encircled by several officers. Authorities identified the suspect as a 34-year-old male, who was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Package examined by Army bomb disposal experts and found to contain electrical items returned by a customer. The cordon and road closures now lifted and we would like to thank the public for their patience. A LARGE part of Leeds city centre was put in lockdown with buildings evacuated this afternoon as police investigated reports of a suspicious package being found. Great Wilson Street, Meadow Lane, Neville Street, Victoria Road and Water Lane in the city centre were all shut.  West Yorkshire Police said they were dealing with a "suspect package incident" in the mail at Asda House. All staff were evacuated from the building and a cordon put in place.

UK reports more than 8,125 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hour's UK reports more than 8,125 new coronavirus cases highest since latest February.It added that more than 90 per cent of new Covid-19 cases are now the Delta variant, with new research suggesting it is associated with an approximately 60 per cent increased risk of household transmission compared with the Alpha, or Kent, strain. Nearly 30,000 more cases of the Indian Covid variant have been confirmed in the UK in the last week, new data shows. PHE said today that 42,323 cases of the Delta variant that originated in India have been confirmed in the UK, up by 29,892 from last week.

A Boy has been stabbed to death in Hayes, LONDON A 15-year-old boy has been stabbed to death in Hayes. Police were called to Blyth Road at 8.34 this morning to a fight. Sadly the boy was found with multiple stab wounds and died at the scene MET Police say at 08:34 they were called to a report of a fight on Blyth Road. Officers attended the location and found the boy suffering from multiple stab wounds. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say they have detained a suspect however there are no further details at the time of writing. Witnesses are urged to contact Police on 101 quoting
