But Clearwater, Florida resident Mary Wischhusen describes the incident as a "fun thing, really." Early on the morning of May 31, a gator broke through low windows in Wischhusen's kitchen and entered her home. She woke up to discover the reptile had destroyed her dining table, left holes in her walls, and smashed her stash of wine. Luckily, aside from some property damage, no one was hurt—even Wischhusen's parakeet was unharmed. The alligator was safely removed and relocated to a facility by emergency responders. Sir Elton John calls Vladimir Putin's gay rights claims 'hypocrisy Sir Elton John has written an open letter to Vladimir Putin accusing him of "hypocrisy" over his claims Russia has "no problems" with gay people. The singer said he was "deeply upset" by the Russian president's comments in an interview in the Financial Times. Sir Elton said his film Rocketman was edited in Russia to remove references to his husband David Furnish and their family. Russia has denied censorship. He previously criticised Mr Putin for a "ridiculous" attitude to gay rights. In the interview, published on Friday, Mr Putin attacked liberalism and, speaking of the LGBT community, said: "God forbid, let them live as they wish." But he added: "Some things do appear excessive to us... They claim now that children can play five or six gender roles. "Let everyone be happy, we have no problem with that. But this must not ...

This community has fought and continued to fight a war of acceptance, a war of tolerance, and of the most relentless bravery. You are the definition of courage.”

Cricket world cup: Bees interrupt South Africa and Sri Lanka again

Cricket world cup: Bees interrupt South Africa and Sri Lanka again A swarm of bees forced the players of South Africa and Sri Lanka to dive onto the ground during their Cricket World Cup clash at the Riverside Stadium on Friday -- but for many on the pitch there was a sense of deja vu. Bees halting international cricket matches is not common, yet it has now happened to the same two teams some two years and 10,000 kilometers apart. The stoppage on Friday lasted only a few minutes, but when South Africa and Sri Lanka clashed at The Wanderers in Johannesburg in a One-Day International in February 2017, the game was halted for over an hour before the swarm moved on "I remember the last time, it was at Johannesburg against Sri Lanka, the same thing happened,” South Africa captain Faf du Plessis told reporters. "It is very funny. Looks like someone's just had a machine-gun through all the players on the field and everyone is down on the ground. ...

The Americans have never failed to make the semifinals or finish lower than third place in the quadrennial tournament. Rapinoe's goal in the fifth minute came after her hard-charging teammate Alex Morgan drew a foul, just outside the penalty area, from France's Griedge Mbock Bathy. Rather than pick out a top corner of the goal, Rapinoe hit a low drive that skipped through a sea of legs. American Julie Ertz jumped over and out the ball's way, just before it skipped past French goalkeeper Sarah Bouhaddi. Rapinoe struck a pos...
