UK Supreme Court rules Boris Johnson's suspension of parliament was 'unlawful' Britain's Supreme Court ruled unanimously on Tuesday that Prime Minister Boris Johnson's five-week suspension of Parliament was "unlawful, void and of no effect". TheThe case marked a historic confrontation between the prime minister, the courts, and Parliament over their rights and responsibilities. "The court is bound to conclude... that the decision to advise Her Majesty to prorogue parliament was unlawful," Supreme Court head Brenda Hale said in the ruling. Britain's highest court announced the decision after holding three days of hearings last week before 11 judges. The court was deciding whether Johnson acted improperly by shutting down Parliament for five weeks before Britain's October 31 Brexit deadline, when the country is scheduled to leave the European Union.

A 6.3-magnitude earthquake stuck Puerto Rico no treat of #Tsunami A 6.3-magnitude earthquake shook Puerto Rico Monday night, striking off the coast of the island in the Atlantic Ocean. The quake hit about 49 miles north-northwest of Isabela, Puerto Rico, around 11:23 p.m. ET, according to the United States Geological Survey. At least three aftershocks have followed the quake including a magnitude 4.7, USGS Third earthquake felt in Puerto Rico. The latest was a 4.8 magnitude. This was an aftershock, centered in the ocean, 44 miles NNW of Isabela Puerto Rico Governor Wanda Vázquez Garced said in a tweet that there was no damage. There is no threat of tsunami from the quake, according to a tweet from The National Weather Service Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
