facet of Fidel Castro as 'Hollywood Actor'

One of the lesser-known facets of Fidel Castro was his ephemeral passage through Hollywood studios in the 1940s.

According to Uruguayan critic Alvaro Sanjurjo , between 1944 and 1946 Castro made his appearance as an actor in the studies of the Metro Goldwyn Mayer .
The recording of his participation was captured in the film " Bathing Beauty " (1944) and " Holiday in Mexico " (Festival in Mexico) in 1946, the two films directed by the American  George Sidney .
Julio Lista, an American film buff, was the one who discovered the name of Fidel in JR Parish & GW Mank's book The Best of MGM (The Golden Years 1928-1959).
In an article published by the newspaper La Jornada, talk about Fidel's empathy and his conversational qualities on Stone's part: "He is an easy-going actor who never says 'stop' , cuts or needs a break."
He also mentioned the Cuban president's favorite actors, among whom were  Mario Moreno 'Cantinflas', Charles Chaplin, Brigitte Bardot, Gerard Depardieu and Sofia Loren.
Fidel Castro promoted in 1969 the creation of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC) with the purpose of giving a "great battle for Latin American identity, liberation, independence and survival".
The revolutionary leader was called " the least known filmmaker in the world " by Colombian writer and Nobel laureate Gabriel García Márquez.
