Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport have been suspended temporarily owing to low visibility.
Mumbai, which saw rains bringing the city down to its knees in 2005, is set to receive heavy showers in the next 48 hours. The disaster management team and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) are on alert and water logging has been reported in several parts of the city. The BMC helpline number for emergencies is 1916.
Mumbai Police has also issued an alert stating that heavy water-logging is expected in the next few hours due to heavy showers and high tide. The police have advised Mumbaikars to check their route before venturing out.

Due to heavy rain, Mumbai's locals have come to a grinding halt as Harbour Line (from CST to Navi Mumbai) and Central Line (from CST to Kasara and Karjat) have been shut. Western Line is partially operational, with trains running between Virar to Andheri while the Andheri to Churchgate section is closed.
Operations at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport have been suspended temporarily owing to low visibility. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has also issued advisory on Mumbai rains, asking Mumbaikars to turn off power and gas connections and not touch open wires.
