Former Indian cricketer Y.Venugopal Rao has joined Jana Sena party in the presence of the party head Pawan Kalyan in Visakhapatnam.
Venugopal Rao made his debut in one-day internationals against Sri Lanka in 2005. The middle-order batsman played 16 one day internationals. He scored 218 runs including one half century. His last ODI was against West Indies in 2006.
Hailed from Andhra, the cricket player played 120 first-class matches and scored over 7,000 runs. He also played for Deccan Chargers and Hyderabad Sunrisers in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He played IPL last in 2014.
Other leaders like former BC Corporation Chairman Kona Tata Rao, industrialist Konathala Sitaram and educationist Mandava Ravi Kumar also joined the Pawan's party.
