India reports 59,118 new COVID19 cases and 257 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per the Union Health Ministry

India recorded 53,476 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, and has been reporting more than 35,00 new daily cases of coronavirus every day for the last week.  India is seeing a huge surge, which many experts warn is the beginning of a second wave.

Total recoveries: 1,12,64,637  

Active cases: 4,21,066

Death toll: 1,60,949

Total vaccination: 5,55,04,440
