An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 struck south of Panama


A strong earthquake hit south of Panama on Saturday afternoon, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre. The EMSC says the quake was 10kms deep.

An earthquake of magnitude 6.2, at a depth of 10 kms, struck south of Panama on Saturday, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) said.n

Authorities said no immediate reports of casualties The quake badly shook Panama, a city of people, about 10 kilometres from the epicentre 

According to local media, at least one residential building in Panama was damaged and several people received small injuries while leaving their homes. Notably, some residents were caught by surprise when the earthquake hit, so people had to stay outside
