A field hospitals official in Gaza recently spoke with Al Arabiya TV, shedding light on the dire conditions in Gaza's northern hospitals, where critical shortages are putting countless lives at risk.


Hospitals Shutting Down Amid a Health Crisis


According to the official, three hospitals in northern Gaza are no longer operational due to sustained damage and lack of resources. This depletion of medical infrastructure has left entire communities without essential healthcare, with patients requiring urgent treatment being turned away. Those hospitals still standing are overwhelmed and lack the necessary supplies to perform even the most basic medical interventions.


We Cannot Perform Surgeries": A Distressing Reality


The situation is particularly severe for patients requiring surgery. The official disclosed that surgeries cannot be performed because of the complete lack of anesthesia drugs. This lack of anesthesia leaves medical professionals unable to perform life-saving operations, as performing surgery without it is both ethically and physically impossible in most cases. This deficiency has exacerbated the plight of critically injured patients who may suffer or even die due to the inability to receive adequate treatment.


No Health Services Available


In addition to the lack of anesthesia drugs, many other essential medical supplies have run out, including antibiotics, blood bags, and medical equipment. As a result, the health situation in the northern regions of Gaza has deteriorated to what the field official described as “more than catastrophic.” Hospitals can no longer provide the basic health services typically expected in times of crisis, leaving healthcare providers to make heartbreaking decisions about whom they can and cannot treat.

This grim report serves as a call to action for the international community, with human rights organizations urging immediate intervention to restore medical services in Gaza.
